Only full AFSCME Local 3142 Members Can:
- Attend AFSCME International Conventions, AFSCME Council 5 Conventions, and AFL-CIO Conventions.
- Submit contract proposals.
- Be elected to Contract Negotiations Assembly and the Master Bargaining Committee.
- Vote in Local 3142 elections and on Local 3142 issues.
- Vote to accept or strike or contracts.
- Be elected for Local 3142 offices or Council 5 offices.
- Serve on Labor/Management Committees involved in making decisions affecting the workplace.
- Participate in AFSCME "PEOPLE" political program and lobbying.
- Have their voice and opinions heard when it counts.
- With a larger membership numbers we are able to bargain better contracts.
- Larger numbers means power and we can resolve workplace issues when we demonstrate our strength in membership.
